All of these tracks are demos for Producers or anyone interested in the sound of this unique electric bass guitar. A 1967 Gibson EB3 modified by Alex Dumble in the Spring of 1974 in Aptos, California he installed a Les Paul "Recording Studio" low impedance pickup. By routing the guitar body to fit the pickup, and preserving the Humbucker with Choke wiring he provided a stereo XLR cable to a Fender Bassman amp which he also wired Channel two to be low impedance. I have played this bass for thousands of hours, as witness the wear markings. Nathan East, Greg Phillinganes, and Steve Ferrone autographed the back of this bass, endearing it to me all the more.

Tracks are in through two 1/4" jacks (stereo guitar, each pickup has a jack) to a MACKIE direct box: to a Focusrite Clarrett2Pre USB interface (XLR cable): to my PC running Ableton 11Lite.

All recordings either without addition of modification, or have I have played the bass through an Ampeg B15 amp plugin emulation. These I have added Focusrite "Red" compression to the chain. I made a few with reverb added but they are not included here.

The Title "Old Wine, New Wine" is a biblical reference to Jesus and the miracle of water to wine, as well as the teaching about putting old wine into new skins. At this point in my life I feel very much like old wine, Francis Sinatra sang about that, and I realize that putting my creations into "new" musical skins is unrealistic. So I am putting out the Old Wine and enjoying it. Hope you do to. PZ aka DF
